BEN BAXTER

Ben's early passion for sports, including hockey, soccer, and water polo, has evolved into competing in the premier 1 division at the UWA Hockey Club. With a bachelor's degree in Sport Science, Exercise, and Health, Ben became a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Further studies as an Exercise Physiologist at UWA deepened his understanding of exercise rehabilitation.
Post-university, Ben gained experience in Sydney but returned to Perth to found Motion Matters Exercise Physiology. This venture, a blend of his education and experience, offers a unique mix of group fitness and individualized rehabilitation services. Motion Matters reflects Ben's vision of a space where community and rehabilitation seamlessly converge. By leveraging academic achievements and hands-on expertise, Ben strives to provide personalized fitness solutions, fostering a supportive community and delivering targeted exercise rehabilitation for a holistic approach to health and wellness.
Ben has interests within the mental health/illness space, sports injuries, preventive health, exercise performance and rehabilitation.

Cam graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Science (Sports Science and Exercise & Health). He then decided to deepen his understanding of the field with a Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology.
The highlight of Cam’s time at university was spending time at a number of different practicum placement locations. It was here that he was exposed to a variety of clients from all walks of life with a huge spectrum of clinical conditions. This experience has cultivated a passion for using exercise as a tool to help individuals achieve their goals, no matter how big or small.
In his own time, Cam enjoys spending time swimming laps at the beach or playing ultimate frisbee.
Cam enjoys seeing clients with a wide range of conditions but has a particular interest in working with the cardiovascular, metabolic and cancer rehabilitation populations.

Jean-Charl (JC) is an experienced Exercise Physiologist specialising in developing and delivering tailored exercise rehabilitation interventions for a wide range of conditions, including sports and musculoskeletal injuries, mental health, cancer, cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, and metabolic conditions. His professional experience also extends into occupational health, where he has applied his expertise in assessment and to assist workers in returning to work.
Jean-Charl’s journey into exercise physiology began with a keen interest in sports. This passion led him into elite sports, where he represented Western Australia across five sports, Queensland in two, and South Africa in rugby league. His athletic career took him across the world, and nowadays, while continuing work in exercise physiology, he also competes as a professional bull rider in America.
Jean-Charl’s broad interests and unwavering commitment to health and well-being are at the heart of his approach as an Exercise Physiologist. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support to his clients, with particular interests in cancer, cardiac conditions, sports injuries, preventive health, exercise performance, and rehabilitation.
